Second-Chance Housing Partnerships for Landlords, Owners & Community-Minded Investors

Stable Residents. Supported Placements. Stronger Communities.

Project HomeShare is a housing stabilization initiative of The Inspired Village Urban Revitalization Movement, Inc., created to help responsible residents rebuild after hardship while giving landlords, owners, and investors a more supported way to participate in second-chance housing.

We work with residents who may be blocked from traditional leasing because of past rental issues, job loss, poor credit, transportation barriers, or limited financial literacy- but who are actively working toward stability, accountability, and long-term housing success.

This is not a simple tenant referral platform.

Project HomeShare is a relationship-based housing pathway designed to support both residents and property owners before, during, and after placement.

Why Project HomeShare Exists

Across Greater Richmond, many working residents are ready to stabilize but cannot access housing because one difficult season still follows them on paper.

A job loss, an eviction, a transportation setback, a credit issue, or a lack of financial guidance can keep a person locked out long after they are ready to rebuild.

At the same time, many landlords and property owners want to help- but need structure, communication, and confidence.

Project HomeShare was created to bridge that gap.

What Makes This Different?

Project HomeShare is designed to become a supported housing ecosystem- not a loose list of names.

Our Model Is Being Built Around:

Vetted Resident Pipeline

We are growing a renter and future-buyer list made up of residents seeking stable housing, financial rebuilding, and long-term independence.

Financial Literacy Support

Residents are encouraged to participate in financial literacy programming focused on budgeting, credit restoration, rental readiness, savings, and pathways toward homeownership.

Standardized Household Agreements

For shared housing placements, we help clarify expectations around rent, utilities, cleanliness, communication, guests, shared spaces, and household responsibilities.

Move-In Stabilization Planning

Move-In Stabilization Planning

We help residents think through the practical side of moving, maintaining housing, communicating with landlords, and preventing avoidable tenancy breakdowns.

Preferred Landlord Relationships

We build ongoing relationships with owners who want reliable communication, stronger resident matching, and long-term collaboration.

Risk Mitigation Strategies

Where appropriate, we may recommend tools such as Jetty Bonds, rental guarantee products, voucher support, layered income structures, or other protections to help strengthen landlord confidence.

Why Owners Appreciate This Model

Second-chance housing works best when compassion is paired with structure.

Project HomeShare helps create a stronger placement environment by focusing on:

  • Clear communication
  • Better-prepared residents
  • Shared accountability
  • Supported tenancy planning
  • Voucher and income-layering opportunities
  • Long-term housing stability
  • Reduced isolation for landlords trying to navigate community housing needs

For owners, this can mean more than filling a vacancy. It can mean participating in a structured pathway that helps residents rebuild while supporting stronger rental outcomes.

This Is for Owners Who Believe Housing Can Do More

We are not looking for every landlord.

We are looking for the right landlords.

The ones who understand that housing can be both a sound investment and a stabilizing force in the community.

The ones who know that a person’s past hardship does not always reflect their future potential.

The ones who want residents to succeed — and also want a structured process that respects the realities of property ownership.

Partner With Project HomeShare

Whether you have one available unit or multiple properties, we invite you to connect with us.

If you are open to second-chance tenants, voucher-supported residents, shared housing arrangements, workforce households, or residents actively participating in financial literacy and stabilization programming, Project HomeShare may be a strong fit.

Together, we can create housing pathways that are practical, supported, and rooted in dignity.
